Top Goal scorers

Since Mike has gone missing and I have no insight of this weekends games so I thought I should make a new post. I chose to write about something I know a bit about, goal scoring. The list is in no order and if I left anyone out let me know.
 - DB

Jay Tomchuk - Jay has been a top goal scorer in the province for a long time. He hasn't scored as many as I thought he would so far but I expect him to have a big game Vs. Sudan in the quarters. I think Poland's future in the tournament is in Tomchuk's right (sometimes left) boot.

Jerson - Jerry can score from anywhere. Never afraid to take people on and let a shot rip. He has a deadly free kick and is a clutch PK taker. ES having Jerson and Riggs on for free kicks may be what takes them deep into the playoffs.

Josip - Josip creates his own goals and is a great finisher. He is tricky and always finds a way to get the ball onto his dangerous left foot.

Nathan Reis - Leading the race for the golden boot (as i predicted) and has more goals in him. Nate comes up with clutch goals and is always a threat to score.

Darko - A goal scorer that is always forgotten, but is never shy to let Mike or Riggs know about it! He scores the majority of Serbia's goals and some of them are beauties. Last year turning Levis inside out before sniping one past Diakiw.

Leon - Always is in the right position at the right time and knows what to do when the ball is at his feet.

Patterson Twins - Dave has a killer left foot and isn't afraid to shoot. He scores some great goals coming in from the wing. SPat chips in with a goal now and again and they are usually quite spectacular. Whether they are shots from just over half or end to end runs SPat is always a danger.

Tong Tong - I haven't seen this guy play but have heard he is quite exciting to watch and provides some quality finishes.

Mike Collins - Free kick specialist and a danger in the air. Also can finish from far with his RVP-esque left foot.

Tavis - Creates and scores big goals. Has great technique and has provided some great goals this year and in the past.

Honorable mentions - Julio, Jarvis, Chico, Ryan M, Murphy

Good post Brown!
Julio had two nice goals on the weekend. Long range shots. I think he is a bit wasted at the back as I watched the Barnstone tourney final this past winter and the offense was all Julio, Levis, Brown, and Tomchuk. I am surprised Nathan is leading the golden boot race but can't argue against how ever many goals he has.

Tong Tong is the Sudan striker.

Why isn't Anibal Bravo on the list! He has 3 goals already and is the most dangerous player on ES' attack right now! Both Bravo brother have scored massive goals this tournament!

I dunno how someone can write an article and not being at the games, and writting opinions. doesnt make sense to me and just hearing things sounds a little bias if you ask me, Jerson has so many goals because 5 of them were aganist Korea, not takin away from his talents, but cmon, Korea is an u12 team.

and as for Julios goals....whatever

Anonymous said...

Anibal Bravo is not good and shouldn't be mentioned. He should sit the pine. He sucks. He scored all his goals against Italy and his brother Flavio is a dud too and should be on the worst blooper reel of the tournament. Wow some anon posters have no clue. COCKY players who have no skill. Their attitude irritates me.

I love this song as much as scoring...."Waka Waka, it's time for Africa," by Shakira --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRpeEdMmmQ0

I agree with that last post.. He is terrible and walks around like he is a hot shot... Use to be a keeper but couldn't handle it so he is searching for something else. He should not be mentioned at all in my opinion..

Anonymous said...

Anibal actually has 4 goals not 3. He gets himself in scoring positions and pots them. A goal is a goal.

Riggs

Brown, your list is alright, but a little biased in my opinion. Most of those guys you are either friends with, or have played with. I also don't think Ryan M, Chico, or Julio are worth honorable mentions. Julio not good enough to be mentioned. He plays defense and his decision making should be in question. When he makes a pass, he forces the ball to a player that isn't even ready to receive it yet. There is always a better pass to make Julio. Look around. You don't need to rush, and you scored your goals on weak opposing teams. Try to make it to the finals and score a few goals and try and defend a little and i'll be impressed. Average at best buddy.

There were some unreal goals this weekend, agree with the post and the goal scorers, Jarvis had the most clutch goal of the weekend i believe and should be on the main list, Poland has a few more scorers then just Jay, even though he is leading, I think Jay will be a big factor in polands games, but i also think chris sarizan will score a few more with his left. I think that sudan poland will be a good game as well as Canada vs france, i think ireland will beat germany if they play to their potential and laos will beat es by at least 3 goals

Anonymous said...

I agree my list is a little biased. I have to know they are goal scorers to put them on my list. And that usually comes from playing with/against them.

The list was made for goal scoring at the tournament that is why the guys on my mentions are there. They all chip in with a few goals.

Who would you add to the list??

DB

My ultimate goal is to impress the anonymous posters BAHAHA BAHAHA or not.

Julio

All you anon goofs claiming that goals against crap teams shouldn't count or something, this is for you.

If nate's or Collins goals only count against good teams (Sudan) they would only have one each. Leon ripped most of his in against s Korea and Italy. Does that mean they aren't good goal scorers??? Anibal scored vs France and Greece, not bad teams. Doesnt mean they were great goals but he scored.

Goal scorers score goals. Jerson ripped in 5 vs south Korea, but at the time we didn't know what would happen in our group, so each one was big since we may have needed the +- since Norway played them last.

Unless you can post with a name and score more than the guys listed, please zip it!

PS Brown I'm better than all those guys especially Tomchuk. Haha

Riggs

There's always a few anonymous posts that are just so out to left field it makes me wonder what people watch. ROI in general are the only team that really keep the ball on a consistent basis. Unless my eyes are failing me, #8 which is Julio, gets the ball from the back more than the other two wing-backs, that by itself should say enough to what Julio does with the ball.
I would actually hate to be on ROI as how much fun is beating a team 11-1? I would be disappointed if players were complacent and sat back and did nothing playing weaker teams.

We should really monitor the type of analysis that is being posted as frankly I am embarrassed to be a part of Regina soccer after I read many of the critiques by fans. The level of soccer knowledge for the most part is poor.

Anonymous said...

Side note: DB I actually think that Riggs should be on the list as he scored some clutch goals. Him and Darko can share the same spot as they both let people know how ridiculously good they are at scoring! haha

Julio

Anonymous said...

Too lazy to add him to the list. He got a little shout out about his free kicks. Maybe I'll have to make a new post about self proclaimed goal scorers?? haha!

DB

Anonymous said...

Lol that would be a sick post. Darko and Riggs would be at the top for the WCP... yet if you added outside of the WCP... the list could be endless! I guess my goals are "whatever" and are "useless" that I'd hope to get a top 3 spot on that list... but I doubt I could compete with Riggs, let alone Darko.... How sick of a name is Darko too.
Darko you should become a regular blogger... your comments are sick bro!

I agree that some goals are not that key in games if it's the 13 goal in a 13-0 game... but goals that come early in matches are key regardless who you play against... the rest are just cherries ontop.

Julio

Anonymous said...

Riggs,

You can't even defend Anibal Bravo! Anibal and Flavio are the worst soccer players in Regina and once they realize how bad they really are then it would be a lot better for them. How do guys like Janzib, Romello, Anibal play soo much for ES?! No wonder players leave that team as if I was on the field with those three I'd most likely want to quit soccer.

Darko and Riggs = legends!

Riggs

Anonymous said...

Anibal scored a clutch goal vs Greece and put the Norway game out of reach.

Jayzee popped in the winner vs Greece and set up the winner vs France with a great run and pass.

Romello is young, works hard and keeps coming back even when he doesn't play much. You need to look to the future and give guys a chance.

Without these guys working hard and getting key goals and plays we wouldn't be in playoffs.

Thanks for another ridiculous anon post!

Hey Riggs, after you scored last night.....what were you pretending to shake in both hands? It looked awfully homosexual...Did you pick up that move at the Rainbow club on Friday night?? I didn't see the goal as I was chatting but congrats on the big win.

How about Canada!! Those guys look like they're unstoppable! Wednesday night is going to be phenomenal.....So excited for every single game that night!!

Anonymous said...

I hope Laos destroys ES so Riggs can just stay home and write on these blogs.

Anonymous said...

to the guy who is beaking players on ES.

y dont u mention ur name and then lets decide how good of a player u are compared to these guys playing on ES.

Anonymous said...

Highlight of the day was mikes shorts. Think eighties nba basketball, then trim off four inches. I assume he forgot his and the older laos drum lady fan lent him an extra pair of her panties. Props for wearin em, mike... God I hope they were an extra pair she had?

Anonymous said...

ok guys quit hatting on players. anibal is not that bad, he might not be as good as he thinks but he did score some important goals for es, as for his brother flavio, he is a GK, dont understand why he is playing outside the net. janzib/jayzee is actually a pretty decent player, i have seen him play, IMO a much better player in outdoor. and romelo is a kid. Give him a break.

Leave the grandma alone. Or I'll die

Anonymous said...

so how are the patterson twins on this list? they do nothing out there,

Anonymous said...

The fact that the anons are beaking on people like the Bravo brothers, Rotmello (AT LEAST SPELL HIS NAME CORRECTLY, GADDAMN), and any other player with skills is because WHY?

Because they're haters.

Haters gonna hate. This is life. I think that it should be an honour that such fools take the time out of their days to sit down, read a blog, and think about a certain individual and then write something about them.

Think about it - the haters know who you are, but you have no idea who they are.

Please, keep calm... We love you all. *pelvic thrust*

Can't we all just dance samba together and make sweet love?

Love, an honest anon. <3

very smart comment anon 21:18.

Question:
who scored 2 of germany's goals in their 3-2 win over nigeria?

Answer: The Patterson twins

Thanks Julio.. :)
Not sure if that was sarcasm or no but thank you, I try to do my part and score, yet somehow I always end up being forgotten and not get put on the list :)

I hope next year Chico doesn't play for our team (Afghanistan). I am tired of him playing an entire game without subbing off the field once. I am tired of his antics and his behavior on he field. He doesn't listen to our coach when he is asked to get off the field, and argues like he knows it all. You're a cancer Chico and you are not welcome back. We would rather have some team chemistry and make it to the next round. You are the reason we didn't make it to the playoffs. I'm tired of playing with you. Find a new team.

Anonymous said...

Yo ppboi I got your invite to rainbow club but they wouldn't let me in. I peaked thru the door and saw you grinding between 2 guys on the speaker, looked like a great time. Too bad I had to miss. As for the cellie, I was paying homage to a tournament legend...Darko Hardi.

You are right though... Canada is looking phenomenal! Anyone that can eliminate chicolicious has to be the favorite to win.

As for that goof DB. I was watching the city final last night and 2 of your so called top scorers had 4 goals a piece. I asked everyone in attendance and they all confirmed I would gave scored at least 6-7 goals and Darko would have had 9. I am WAY better than those guys...sort it out please!

PS Collins Myrah wants his shorts back.

Thanks bud,
Riggs

Darko, I just enjoy seeing a Darko post. They are pretty funny, and you take a joke well... that's what makes it entertaining.
You and Riggs should battle for the number one most lethal striker in the WCP history. I actually didn't get to see a Darko cele as I don't think he scored against ROI... but the only reason he didn't score was because he just felt bad and wanted to save his goals for bigger Serbian games.

Darko you should talk to the Serbians about having their crowd making Darko chants all match, I think that will help you not be forgotten and also it will help you break Brown's all time record.

Saturday night, one night only...

Anibal and the Polish Playboy are going to have a strip off on stage at the owl. We are looking into getting full permits for this event and tips will graciously be accepted.

Riggs, those weren't guys. They were two chicks who shaved their heads in honor of some cancer survivors. Way to go...who is this donni darko?

Anonymous said...

Sounds gay

Anonymous said...

Sorry ppboi, the beard, huge muscles and sailor tattoos through me off. I'd hate to see how big she was before. Good on them though, first they beat cancer, then get to dance with western Canada's top rated adult entertainer. You are a true man of the people!

Good luck Saturday! It's your battle to lose! Julio and I will be the impartial judges.

Riggs

Anonymous said...

I almost rather not see Anibal strip off against Bart.. I think Darko would be a much better opponent for the Polish Playboi!

I am just curious if props will be used during your performance, and if you will warm up by giving Jay Tomchuk a lapper before you hit the main stage?

Sounds gay? Please sounds awesome.. what are you talking about! Real men strip, and even more real men watch men strip obviously!!

Julio

Why are we talking about such rubbish. This has nothing to do with soccer or wcp. Riggs and Julio you need to drop it and start talking about something important. Wow ... look at your last couple posts above. This is a huge joke and it's frustrating and sad. Please STOP. Talk about something worth talking about. This pisses me off. I'm starting to get angry and I hope others will do the same as to voice their concern. This is why people get mad.

Darko Hardi said...

Thank you Julio i appreciate the compliments :)
since were out now i can't talk to them about doing the chants but for Saskatoon WCP I'll make sure I mention it to them so they boost my morale and i get more confidence :)
or just next year in Regina...
and for ROI game I wasn't prepared and since i twisted my ankle on the stairs night before the ROI game I wasn't able to run so I didn't play much...again my excuse will be next year I'll try to score on them I guess :)

Hello polish playboi :)
mr donnie darko is just a guy from a small town of North Battleford...
Serbia's #9 if that helps ;)
Nice to talk to you btw :)

Those short shorts were a throwback ode to Gordie Peever/Korthius. Didn't know they'd be such a hit.

Also Reis and I did score in the big game we had. I can only play in the games they let me.

Glad to see Darko has joined!

Darko has to be the worse striker ever

Flavio C.M Bravo-Farias said...

I just love reading about people beaking Anibal and I, I find it quite amusing that people say shit about the two of us and hide under the Anonymous name. And I agree with that one anonymous poster that they know who we are but we don't know who they are. I know there's people that dislike me, does it bother me? No. It doesn't affect my life if they hate me or like me.

And it was brought to my attention that people think "God of War" is/was me. If I have something to say to someone I'll say it to your face or put my name down on this blog. I won't come up with creative nicknames to post it under.

And the reason why I'm playing out is because Jimi felt that I would be better playing out for Greece. I had fun playing out..

Also I know the goal that was scored on me with my U18 team was awful, and it should be on the blooper reel. Mistakes happen guys, I make more than other people and I know I have to fix that. But that one goal deserves a number 1 on the blooper reel maybe even on TSN's Top 10 bloopers.

I know I'm not the greatest player ever in Regina and I don't know how people think Anibal and I walk around that we are "hot shit". And so what if I have an attitude on the field, that's the type of player I am on the field and not off the field.
