Mike I am a little upset that you didn't further the list so you could have included Drako's snipe tally!!
His should count as double as he played for Serbia!

Congrats to Nate for pretty much having golden boot wrapped up. The only guy who I think has the firepower to catch him is JT if Poland can somehow make the final.

I've had a fun day playing being a dumbass, but here is how I honestly feel things will go:

Canada 4 France 2
I think on paper this should be France winning but they had the opposite tournament. France was in a long time ago, Canada had to fight through some tough competition to make it (afghan) and even tougher competition to win their group. Jarvis may be the best player in the tournament and tavis is great on the ball.

ES 5 Laos 3
Obviously I'm biased but I will explain. People thought we were all but eliminated after game 1. All 4 games since then have been playoff type games for us and we went 4-0, including eons over 3 2011 playoff teams. Laos on the other hand cruised through their group and looked disintereted while basically letting Canada take it to them. Unless they lost intentionally assuming we'd beat Norway it wasn't too spectacular. That being said they have experience and obviously could beat us.

ROI 6 Germany 2
Haven't watched much of Germany but Ireland is very good. The Pattersons would have to be quadruplets to pull off this one.

Sudan Poland
This game us soooo hard to predict. Poland work hard, have some skill, defend hard. Sudan has some skill, has some size and has a great game plan. I think I have more respect for sudans skill then anyone else dies, so it's hard for me to go against them. I will be cheering bartosz, jt and Meshke on with the polski posse, but I have to say Sudan 4 Poland 3.

That was hard to even think up predictions. All teams deserve to be in semis and could win it on a given day.

and the wcp cup tournament is almost done and thank god for that ... no more julio, riggs, and all you other SPAM posters to deal with anymore ... talking about striping etc is not what this blog is about nor is it funny... get some real info. up.

Tomchuk has 8 or 9 goals. He had 5 at the last golden boot list. And since then be scored one against Hungary and three I think against Vietnam

Mike or Julio if u guys have time I'd like to see your list of top goalkeepers. We talk about all the players how important they are but we always forget about the back man. These guys deserve mentioning as it takes guts to play that position. People talk about keepers not doing anything or not having to run but in my opinion it takes hard work and a brave brave person to play that position.

anon 23:44, just for you we will start a Saskatoon blog for their world cup to keep the fun rolling.

This list is just from the games I have seen... I may miss a goalie here or two, but I already explained my reasoning.

1. Evan (Laos) - Quality goalie, big size, and has had some really good distribution.
2. Tristan (France) - Was hands down the best keeper when he was younger, but still competes amongst the best; made some good saves vs ES.
3. Jonah (ROI) - Doesn't get tested often, yet when he does he always comes up big.
4. Serbian Keeper - If it wasn't for the Serbian keeper vs ROI, ROI would have been up by 10 before half. Keeper made an array of big saves.
5. Scottish Keeper - The kid looks like he is 14, and he did quite well. Not a top keeper yet, but had a solid performance for being so young. So I tip my hat to the little ginge.
6. Michal (Poland) - Just a beast in net, he will need to have a huge game tonight if Poland wants to live another day!

So far that's all I can think of, I bet there's a few more out there... but that's all I have for now.

Why is Julio not in the race for the golden boot? Oh wait ... that's cause he sucks ... thought he was supposed to be some amazing defender/midfielder. By the looks of things ... not very good. The guy is all TALK and NO SHOW. Stats prove it. Julio is the Dion Phaneuf of the wcp ... the most overrated soccer player.

Ha ha the above comment is so true! What garbage. Take out the trash already!!!!!!!! :)

Watching Julio tonight wasn't anything special, really didn't stick out to me among the players. Nothing special at all. Time to forget about this guy. How do you think Germany got so many goals. ROI should have lost. Lucky break with the header. Doubt this ROI team will win the wcp this year.

Hey Riggs, what happened to you guys tonight. Suckers. Good riddens. Na na na na, na na na na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye!!! Thanks for coming out you dud. Thought you guys were going to win. HA HA HA! Maybe try training for soccer instead of blogging. You are a better blogger than a soccer player. What a sad guy.

Canada wins!!! I knew it all along. Mike was wondering why? Seriously!??? Weird. Clearly people other than the people who blog know there stuff. DB predictions all whack, guy doesn't watch any games ... lame!!!

I think poland's goalie stole the show tonight. My hat goes off to him because he made some world class saves. If it wasn't for him Poland would of been crushed.

Julio thanks for your list and my vote goes to poland's keeper for best of the tournament.

Julio list of keepers is flawed. I don't think he knows what he is talkinga about. Are you kiding me ... scotland and serbia keeper. wow. You do know Serbia lost to Botswana don't you Julio? The same keeper played ... horrible. And as for scotland, maybe one day he will be good, but needs a lot of work.

Where do these guys get there info. from wow. Do you even watch the games that don't matter. I've watched every game this year. Please don't speak if you don't know what your talking about. One game and your speaking so hiley of inconsistant players. Ok buddy ...

Anonymous said...

Ya Julio doesnt know what hes talking about, all he does is picks his friends, which I dont mind but has watched 80% of the games???? its the same with DB, I dunno how these guys can make write ups without watching any of the games, one keeper which has been playing good is Scott Waller I think.

For starters when I made the goalie list, the first sentence read "This is a list of goalies that I have seen, I may be missing some" So seeing as I added that per-cursor the reader should have been well aware that it was not a perfect list; but thank you anon 10:10 for not being able to understand a simple statement before you got your little panties in a bunch.

For the guy that was beaking me from his blackberry after the Germany game; well done bud. You were just chomping at the bit to get a post in right after the match... you must have been so proud of yourself.. I'm flattered that you couldn't even wait to get to a computer to make your post.

How many defenders have you seen win the golden boot. We will use your analogy of hockey and Erik Karlsson is the defender with the most points and he is no where near the top points list in the NHL. Another weak argument from anon, I do not understand your reasoning... it's like your asking me to show you guys how uninformed you are.

I think Julio was right 3 for 4 on his predictions, and the Poland game came down to the wire!
Doesn't know what he is talking about eh?

Better blogger than soccer player? WOW!!!!!

I must be a phenomenal blogger because at soccer I am clearly THE BEST!!!

Due to our unfortunate exit I will be upstairs getting annhialated with Tomchuk tonight. Since we appreciate all you fans so much, please come up and meet us and don't be scared to ask for an autograph.

great tactic riggs. hang out with someone who people like to upgrade your social circle at the regina facility, where clearly no one has any respect for you. If you were to sit by yourself, do you think anyone would come and be excited that they could sit beside you and watch a game?

Anonymous said...

Sorry to inform you Julio, but Karlsson is actually at the top of the points list for a defender. What you're saying is truely messed up because you are comparing an all-star hockey player to yourself (an ameteur soccer player from sasktoon). No comparison and you're very misinformed and you said about that someone made a weak argument which is false. The argument is more than valid. Nice try though. You seem to be making yourself look bad more and more each day. Quit while you are ahead. This just makes me laugh. What happened to you guys tonight by the way. LOL :)

Anonymous said...

Karlsson is top 10. Julio is not and will never be. End of story. He will never be top 10 and his logic is flawed. Karlsson could have eaily won the points race, so there is no excuse for a defender to not win the golden boot, especially one like this Julio guy who thinks he is all that and talks about how good is at midfield when he plays defense. Come on now buddy.

I've watched every game this wcp cup. How many games have you watched Julio??? You post every day and claim to know it all with your so called smart remarks. Wow guy, you make me laugh. BYE BYE ROI!!! ROI lost because of weak pick ups this year. Time to get Brown back, Tomchuck, Levis, and get rid of Julio, Kapila, and Dooley.

Question:
Riggs, if you were to sit by yourself do you think that anyone would be excited to come and be excited to sit by you and watch a game

Answer:
YES!!!!!!

There was a very long line of autograph seekers there last night for jt and myself. In fact I signed so many that I had to ice my wrist several times today. But have no fear I will make a full recovery after a good week of taking it easy.

Thanks for your question kind sir!
