Top 5 Midfielders

1) Kevin Murphy (France) - Murf has been on fire lately. Scoring goals and setting them up at will. He has a great work rate and is accountable on defense. He has gotten under all our skins before but hey its part of the game.

2) Danny Marchinko (France) - This tournament suits Danny's style. He excels in tight space and I noted before has the ability to create a yard for himself in order to get off a shot. When he does..... watch out.

3) Ryan Mcgavigan (ROI) - A lesser known commodity in this tournament. Ryan had some trouble adapting to the indoor game as he loved to play the side to side long ball. However, he has gotten past that. Has some of the best control and vision in the tournament. Loves to chip the keeper. Watch for it.

4) Kevin Holness (Jamaica) - Yeah he has slowed a bit but not as much as people seem to suggest. He is still faster than me! The ball seems to just stick to him and he really is a joy to play with because when you give him the ball you can be assured you are getting it back. Fun to watch.

5) Brett Levis (Poland) - I heard he may play now so I will include him on the list. Brett is probably the best player in the tournament. Great at one on ones. He can carry the ball in tight at full speed which makes him nearly impossible to cover. Trust me I know.

Davids

1) Jarvis Hughybaert (Canada) - I have Jarvis in midfield since that is where he played last time I played in WCP. Jarvis is dominant in the air and strong defensively. He never stops running and sometimes chips in with the odd goal.

2) Jordian Farahani/Chico (Laos) - Chico is dangerous on the ball, great passer and is not afraid to go at players. He can be dangerous from free kicks and is also solid defensively.

3) Mike Collins (Jamaica) - A great all around midfielder. Wins the ball, gets under peoples skin, sets up goals and also chips in with quite a few. Mike also is one of the best free kick takers in the tournament.

4) Mitch Bauche (Afghanistan) - Mitchy is a tricky little .... when you think you've got him he figures a way to get out of it. Not really experienced at WCP but Afghanistan will be relying heavily on him to control the middle. Not much of a goal scorer but is excellent in creating chances for others.

5) Dwayne Gareau (ROI) - Very strong and reliable holding midfielder. Dwayne wins alot of headers and is not ever shy to get stuck in. Experienced in this tournament he knows what it takes to win!

JUUUUNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!! Missing so many better midfielders. What else is new with this blog? Top 5's? Really ....

whats your list champ?

I'd take Rolfe over Mike Dwayne Kevin and probably Ryan too. Probably over Murphy aswell as Rolfe is way more personable and more consistent. Yes Murphy is playing well lately but he can become pretty invisible in some games. Never really the case with Rolfe

Rolfe is no better than Paco. Both those guys can compete for the SKINNY LITTLE HOBBIT AWARD. Both of them play of crappy teams. ES sucks and so does Columbia. Rolfe will gets tossed around like a little rodent. He's weak.

To put Rolfe on the list is just plain stupid. Ronnie the guy on ES, not Rolfe. Clueless ANON Bloggers. WOW.

Worst Midfielder on Jamaica: Mike "I think I'm the best" Collins because I played on the Sask. National Team and scored a goal. So what man. Who cares about your goal you scored on the national team. Am I supposed to give you respect because you won a medal. You are so special. Cry me a river. If you want respect, try to not drink before games. Then you might gain some. Don't be a complete dick this year on the field. You need to show some respect yourself buddy, esepcially to the officials.

What is the Sask national team? Did we become a country? Why don't i get filled in on this stuff

Anon: 15:08 are you trying to be a sarcastic dud ... obviously it was supposed to be saskatchewan provincial team at the nationals you moron. We all got the point. It's quite clear ...

Your understanding of every post must come from posting as a plethora of different names, trying to be new people. Must be fun responding to yourself on here!! :)

Mike "I smash mugs" Collins is more like it. What a douche. National team insurance goal scoring knob jerkoff.

Anonymous said...

Caesar is a nice midfielder

Who cares if Collins played on the Sask. team that won the Nationals. Does he want some kind of recognition or respect? Does he think he is a good soccer player for making that team? You're no better than anyone else. You're getting washed up Collins. Time for you to quit playing wcp.

To put Mr. "Hot Tempered" Murphy on your list as number 1 is a little outrageous. Is Murphy ever going to win anything in his soccer career? Maybe he can go back to England and pretend to play pro?

I should be on the list. You can call me the destroyer.

Why is Craig Hodel not on this list. By far the best holding midfielder in the tournament!!!

Anonymous said...

Tell me something Collins ... why do you keep picking all your friends for these lists you make? Do you have some kind of secret obsession with all of them? Maybe it's because half these guys played on your stupid Sask team? Does that mean you are all amazing? Last I checked this tournament is in Regina. Who the heck cares about who's on the top 5? Maybe if you played pro I would care. Other than that, you are no better than the average other guy on the field. No point in these lists or these stupid debates about stupid players. WHO CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why you hype this up so much???? It's a joke really.

Why you deleting posts? Nice blog dude ...

Clearly this tournament means enough to you that you come on here everyday and complain that you havent made a list of the best players. If you didn't care, you wouldnt read the blog, let alone post on it.
What topic would you post if you had blog administrator capabilities? The top 5 reasons why you have never made a list on this site? The top 5 people you wish you could be friends with that play in WCP? Your top 5 man crushes?
I'm excited to see your response, hopefully it's as well thought out as the rest of the nonsense you have posted.

1 Brett and Jarvis

These guys are just plain too good to rate one higher than the other. Brett has a bit more offense, Jarvis has a bit more defense. Hands down the top 2 players in the tournament

3 Bauche

You never know where this kid will go next. So fast, good dribbling, good vision and after a year of huskies under his belt, I think he will be scoring some goals and setting up Josip like crazy

4 Stef Husdal

I know some people don't like the Husdals, but they are both pretty effective on the field. He wins balls, distributes well, jumps in offensively and is the best at getting under the skin of opposing players

5 Murphy

Dribbles at top pace, good shot, intense defensively and competes hard to win.

Honourable mention

Julio
If he plays there, he wins lots of balls, irritates, opposition, has good vision and passing and lays down some of the best dives Saskatchewan has ever seen

ES 4
Ronnie, Rolfe, Jerson, Cesar could all be thought of for this list and will be tough to defend against as a unit.

McAllister
Don't know if he'll play or would have been on the list, but best midfielder I've played with

Sudan midfielder
Don't know this guys name, but I think he pops his collar and sets up tong tong like it's his job, hits nice free kicks and scores as well

Riggs

To respond to Dwayne Head re: Dwayne Gareau, I think DG's merits stem from what he does in 11 v 11 soccer. Mike and Dave, amongst others, see him play all summer in outdoor soccer but only a few games a year at WCP. I think there is some challenge in forgetting about his ability on a full field pitch and differentiating between that and where he ranks on the WCP pitch. If you were more familiar with his outdoor game you may agree.

What Riggs??? are u retarded??? Brett and Jarvis good players not the best in the tournament and then to have Husdal on your list is even more shocking aka "the king of pass backs"

Anonymous said...

Ya I wouldn't have Julio in there either. He's too unstable. Puts in dirty tackles and he got owned by Laos last yr

Anonymous said...

Julio is nothing. No need to mention that fool. He should be taking dance lessons.

this blog is an f-ing joke, and so is everyone posting. Comparing amateur soccer players? This is a minor regina tournament. Use your energy to talk about real issues elsewhere.

That makes you a joke!
