HAHA Canada got beat by Poland.....people on here talking up Canada....they suck...wouldnt be surprised if Hungary beat them tonight too seeing as how well they played last game vs Nigeria

Anonymous said...

polands goalie definately got the win for them. Stood on his head. He made some great saves

Last night against poland, Canada got paid back for the bad reffing call that cost them a loss to nigeria in their first game.

With a couple minutes left the ref tags polands keeper with a delay of game penalty putting canada perched on the 18 with a free kick.

Can you say asinine. By far worst call of the tournament and as bizzare as the womens canada olympic debacle.

Ref did not have a good game, but that call was astoundingly bad. I hate refs who try to influence the outcome, ego in refs is a bad thing.

Tavis and akmed line up for the kick, akmed gets pushed out by tavis, who places a chip shot two feet high. Akmed pulls his hair out, and poland wins.

Great defending by poland and their keeper played like he can, and should. Up there with tasos brilliant game against nigeria.

Cant believe hungary can still get through.

How hard does canada work tonight after being knocked out by poland last night?

Hungary hopes not very hard.

Anonymous said...

I thought that call was for handling the ball outside the box. Still questionable, though.

Nope polish players asked ref right away who said it was for delay. Awful.

Laos on the outside lookin in after the afghan win tonight over Jamaica.

Who would have thought Serbia/Colombia may be the biggest game tomorrow night? Nigeria/Poland decides the group, but no offense to those teams, it should just decide who loses to France, who loses to Sudan. Though obviously in this tournament there are ten top teams that could potentially beat each other, odds favor France and Laos.

If Colombia wins or ties, Ireland wins the group and afghans will face roi. If Serbia wins, Jamaica faces roi. If Colombia wins by 5+ they will play Jamaica. If they win by less and Scotland/Portugal tie, Colombia also advances. Pretty crazy stuff!

Hard to believe Canada picks up JD/Mcallister and don't advance

Hard to believe Laos picks up Chico off afghans and get knocked off as afghans advance from same pool. Laos with no Chico should have got out of that group. I wonder where Jaycee and Irinici were!?

Pakistan u16 boys are a nice team to watch.

David Brown is looking good considering he's not too far off surgery. Him and Collins are by far the top scoring tandem in the tournament and Jamaica will be tough to beat.

Anyone else hope to see Nigeria vs Sudan in 1/4a?

Women's side looks alot more interesting this year. There's some quality players and teams playing this year.

Sorry meant odds favor France and Sudan, not Laos, who will be watching 1/4s for first time in a while.

Strange post,

nigeria and poland have no chance, but somehow they both beat a stacked canada team!

Nigeria has no offence!

Jamaica will be hard to beat, but were beaten tonite!

The serbia/columbia game means nothing cause their pool will get beat by superior talent of jamaica and afghanistan!

I guess its what you see.

Just to add to things with group D...if Colombia wins by a couple goals and Scotland wins over Portugal by a couple goals that will create a 4 way tie at 2-2 for the last playoff spot with all the goal differential very close and leaving the goals for all around the same as well. A Columbia win with a Scotland win could leave things so tight we might just see a shoot out depending on the scores of those games!

Anonymous said...

Don't think there is much of a chance of a shootout. Serbia is +12 and Colombia is +3 at the moment. So if Colombia wins by 5, or more they would have a better differential, any less, Serbia is better. Scotland and Portugal are each -4, so would have to win by more than 12 to have a chance to go through. Highly unlikely.

I want Jamaica to face ROI so everyone can see what a very talented team in Jamaica is going to do to ROI which is very weak this year. Fans will cheer so hard. Fans hate ROI. No one likes that classless team full of dirty soccer players. ROI will face a contender and lose.

Who would have thought that the Darko vs Paco match up would have so much riding on it! I am hoping both Paco and Darko have good goalscoring nights but I think Paco will beat Serbia.

I was pretty impressed with Afghan yesterday. They worked as a team and did whatever they could in the final minutes to prevent goals and managed to survive to get the win. I think if Brown would have been fit for action, Jamaica would have tied or won as the few minutes Brown played he was Jamaica's most dangerous player.

As for anon 12:56, I am not too sure what you are referring to. There have been some non-sense ROI tackles (I had on against Serbia), but to call the ROI team classless seems a little drastic. Did you not watch the DJ Booty game? I didn't even tackle two of the players but I went out of my way to help them up... I guess in Regina that is considered classless. It's funny that you mention that fans hate ROI, as last night many neutral bystanders were cheering for Afghan to win so people wouldn't have to see Laos anymore. I for one kind of dread the thought that Laos is out of the tournament as Matt Leuong is now going to spend even more time on the blog posting anonymously. Can't wait to see what garbage that dud comes up with next.

I am curious how the ES France game was so close after Sudan ran all over ES? Is France not as good as they are being hyped out to be, or is Sudan now hitting their top stride after that first game defeat. Keep in mind Sudan lost last year vs ROI and then went undefeated the rest of the way.

I thought I'd drop some WCP knowledge for all the know-it-alls out there!!!

Chico plays for ES, they don't make it out of the group.
Chico plays for Afghan, they don't make it out of the group.
Chico plays for Laos, they don't make it out of the group.

Now what you have to say?!?!?!

Chico doesn't make it out of the group?

Anonymous said...

@ the Joker.....Life is ironic, kind a like when people find out the truth and realize their best friends have been their worst enemies all along. : )

Anonymous said...

When chico played for ES, they made it to the final

Once again Julio knows nothing, I cant wait for him to get owned by Kevin in the mid, your fat and slow Julio go into carving chairs or something

I also cant wait for that Lee kid on ROI get tackled from behind and then when he loses his dad will spank him in front of the crowd

WE NEED NEW POWER RANKINGS! I realize that there is still Scotland and Portugal's game tonight, so maybe we should wait for that. But we need some new rankings BEFORE the quarter finals begin!

Anonymous said...

NO WE DONT NEED POWER RANKINGS! you clown and no one gives a flying f_ck about portugal v scotland, an u-16 team could probably beat em

Anonymous said...

Who cares about power rankings? All that matters now is who made Quarters.

Personally I think they matched up the best way possible. Here is why:

Sudan/Nigeria

Two African teams going head to head, with Abu being one of few players in the tournament that can possibly contain tong tong. Plus they have the speed to pressure them, should be interesting, but have to give defending champs the edge.

Sudan 5-3

Poland/France

France is looking strong as always and will be tough to beat. Poland is a true team, that s raps and fights and relies on great goalkeeping. It will be a defensive battle thar may be decided by a final kick.

France 2-1

Afghanistan/Serbia

Afghanistan in strong all around and has had some good results to get out of a tough pool. Serbia started slow but has picked up steam. I
think the afghans come in thinking cakewalk
And get surprised.

Serbia 4-2

Ireland/Jamaica

Collins and Brown vs the team they built. I think it's great to see Holness in the playoffs and they are looking solid. Ireland has started improving, but yet to hit their stride. If anyone can contain Brown and Collins it would be ROI. If anyone can figure out how to beat ROI it should be Brown and Collins. I'm think ot, maybe shootouts.

ROI 4-3 in a shootout

no offence to david brown, but roi was a force at wcp long before he arrived.

Anonymous said...

I don't know if we'll win or not but there is no way in hell we'll treat it like a cake walk. We'll go out with everything we got, you have my word on that. Serbia is a good team, they finished first in their group and deserve respect. It'll be a good game.

Picking my favorites. Jamaica, Afghanistan, Sudan and France.

No offense taken, I've never claimed to be the reason ROI are a power house!

Oops, Monday morning post haha

New predictions

France/Nigeria

I wish 1/4s were way I had them but here we go. France are too organized and disciplined to lose here. I could be wrong but think this could be over early.

France 5-2

Sudan/Poland

Poland should have thrown a game to finish 2nd as they'd have a better chance vs France. With the style of play of these teams I think it matches up in sudans favor.

Sudan 3-1

This blog is now officially sad !

Serbia is no match for Afghanistan. We are a group of players who play with heart. We play for our country. We play to win. We will not lose to Serbia. Serbia is one guy, Darko. He will be marked up. We have a game play already set. Our coach, Summers, is one of the best coaches in this tournament. The knowledge he passes on to us is like no other. No one can compete with our skill level. No one. Afghan will win this tournament this year. I can guarantee it.

Hahahha def not one of us but good try on the impersonations.

Summers is a good coach???

Anonymous said...

Summers a good coach? Hellllll no. He's a nasty little rodent who ruins teams. He himself ruined Nigeria. Summers is nothing but a cancerous worm that needs to barrow back into the ground and hide.
