Doesn't Tavis have like 8 or 9 goals?

Anonymous said...

Why the huskies suck:

1. Scott Myrah made the team.
2. Shann Kapila made the team.
3. Paco Brown made the team.

The huskies are far from quality.

Tavis, who is Tavis. Next post.

Laos is going to get absolutely destroyed tonight because they have stupid players who don't know how to pass. For example, that Adam Ailsby guy. Like what are you doing out there dud. You get yelled at by your coach every game. Get off the pitch and sit on the bench and shut up.

Anonymous said...

Why isn't Tavis on the golden boot list he has 6 at least

Anonymous said...

Anon 13:57; I whole heartily agree with you that Kapilla, Myrah and Brown are junk players; no doubt about that. I am not by any means a Huskie fan, but I will say that the team has improved because it has a few good players, and more good players on the roster than in previous years. The list of terrible Huskie players is un-ending (Myles Shedden being the prime example as he worse than all the aforementioned players. He is so bad that barely anyone in Regina knows who he is and he played 8 years of Huskies; 3 as a red shirt. Even Gerald played Huskies!!!)

I think what was helped the Huskies be more successful as of late are the following factors;
1. Introduction of Mount Royal has weakened the U of C and U of A teams and allowed the talent levels to equal out throughout Alberta.
2. Edmonton FC has taken away Alberta's top players from playing in the CIS and therefore that has weakened the Alberta teams.
3. The new division format is favourable for the Huskies and if they don't make the play-offs each year; that would be embarrassing.

So the prairie teams that were typically better than the U of S are now at a lower level which has helped the U of S be more competitive. Yet the program lacks depth that many of the players that don't play and are on the roster are just fillers (Kapilla being a prime example of that).

Lets not forget annon 16;07 the one year University of Victoria pretty much threw one season away because they were hosting nationals the following season and red shirted some players

Soccer in Saskatchewan has a long way too go before they catch up to the rest of the Country. B.C. and Alberta are good examples of provinces that are way ahead of Saskatchewan. In Saskatchewan, we aren't going to progress seeing as most youth players quit playing soccer due to bad coaching or lack of interest. I don't think our province has what it takes to develop top notch players, who may or may not play professional one day. It's just not part of our developmental plan. These type of tournaments are for the people who want to get out and have a good time. I don't think this tournament is supposed to showcase quality players. It's just a fun type of environment. Overall not a bad idea to have something like this happen each year. Go out and enjoy. No need to bash people etc. It's nice to see players celebrate and enjoy the games. It feels good to have a crowd watch and cheer you on.

That Scotty Myrah kid walks around like he is the best. It's actually nice to see people recognize talented players from junk players. You stay classy Regina.

I think it is refreshing to see that people are starting to educate themselves and understanding where Saskatchewan soccer stand and why. I agree with all the above comments as they all are very true and accurate.

Bryce Chapman is a master manipulator. It is what he does. He knows how to play things right and he knows how to make players and people that don't know better believe what he is trying to sell.
1. Brett Levis is a good CIS & PDL player, but he will never set foot in the MLS. His ten day training camp was a stint to raiser awareness for the SK Whitecaps academy and people believed the hype. Why do I say this you ask, let's look at the following:
Brett is not the best player in the Can West and not the best player in the CIS. The quality of players playing in the NCAA is much higher as that is where players are going to get drafted into the MLS. Many of the top NCAA players get drafted by MLS teams, only to be released by those MLS clubs and then even released by lower tiered clubs like Edmonton FC, Miami, Atlanta, etc.
Brett has never had an international cap, and it doesn't seem like that is going to happen anytime soon. A player like Kyle Bekker, who is on the Canadian MNT and was a top draft pick last year, has struggled to find minutes in the MLS; that how does Brett compare to a player like that.
The top player from the CIS a few years ago was in the Whitecaps PDL program and ended up with Edmonton FC; I believe the furthest Brett will make it is a season or two with Edmonton FC… but many people believe that this stint is a stepping stone for Brett to be in the MLS and this a far fetched dream.
Not trying to take anything away from Brett, but this is the reality of the game in Canada; yet somehow Bryce Chapman has sold this across to players across the province much like he has sold the recent success of the huskies.

2. The Huskie success is overrated. The Canada West is not a load with talent as it was in the 80's & 90's as the top players in Alberta and BC are going to the NCAA.

Bottom line; be careful what Bryce Chapman tries to sell you as he sells you something that will benefit him in one way or another. I hope more people start opening their eyes to reality.

I find it funny how everyone beaks the huskies. If you wanna play huskies go for it. Am I the best player out there? No, I'm far from it but I work hard. Playing for the huskies is a choice. Players from Regina could play if they want but they choose not too. I know there are better players out there that could easily play at that level.

I don't get why people in Saskatchewan want your own players to fail so bad. If Brett wants to try to go Pro why beak him? If Chico goes to play PDL why beak him? Are you jealous? At some point you should think to yourself that it's awesome that these guys are trying to go places in soccer. Every year on this blog it seems people beak the talented players because they want to go further in soccer. Does that make sense? Are you that conceded that you cannot support local players in their ambition to go somewhere away from Saskatchewan because you couldn't?

Bryce is a great coach. I've been on both sides of his personality and I'll be honest he can be an ass sometimes. Over 6 years with the program he has changed a lot but he has always been a great coach. Does beaking the Whitecaps and Huskies really make you feel better? We have a coach that did so much work to get a program to develop players in Saskatchewan but according to 'anonymous' bloggers he is a cancer. Really think to yourself about that. I'll make it very clear.. you do not need to be a great player to play Huskies. If you put a cent of work into it you'll be successful. Guys come on here beaking me and Shaan and Paco and others for what reason? Is WCP the pinnacle of Sask Soccer? Put in a bit of effort and set aside your arrogance and maybe you could play at that level. I worked my ass off for 6 years to play Huskies and for those who actually know me they can say I wasn't a great player. I sat on the bench most games and played max 15 minutes a game. I knew my role and I was fine with that. If you have a problem with me or other Huskies players come say it to my face. This blog is great for talk within the soccer community but I'm sick of people bashing Bryce and all the players that work hard to play on that team.

I'm done my rant. If you wanna have a talk about this come find me and we can argue but don't anonymously come on here and beak players because your jealous or arrogant or just an ass.

So true Scottie. People who beak behind an online fake identity - wow. Players need to work for their potential. If you haven't been a part of the huskie program, you have no idea how much work Bryce, Kent, stu and ALL the players put into it. Support them rather than beak. Time for some to grow up

A ton of jealous folk live in and around Saskatchewan. That much I know. I've heard so many people talking rubbish about other players and teams. Do you people have nothing better to do than gossip. Seems like a lot of folk around here have very sad lives. Lets trash people and make fun of people. Very sad.

If you work hard like Scott, you deserve the recognition that comes with it. So what if you're not the most talented player or most skilled player.

I see teams and players every year in the WCP and they work hard and have fun. It's not all about scoring goals. Soccer is a team game. The odd skilled player here and there is all you need. Most of the time, it's the guys like Scott that make a difference because they run their asses off and get the ball to that "talented player". Give the guy a break. He's a good guy. There are other players on here getting bashed year in and year out. Stop already. Say something positive.

ANON 20 April 2014 17:03, I doubt Peever is going to punch himself. Awesome list though. Soheil needs at least a 3 punch combination though. The guy is a huge dud who hangs off Jordian. Are you trying to be his manager or something Soheil? Like why do you stand so close to Jordian all the time. Something you aren't telling all of us?

Its a discrace to the tournament. Focus on what the tournament is about. Seriously. Yes be competitive but don't go bashing people. And props to scott myrah for his post.

Yeah, our game against Canada was a grind. They really put us under in the first half. Pleased to have gotten through that one.

Weak goals let in by JD. Canada had more chances and could not capitalize. Jonah had a great game.
I have a feeling Jamaica will be out as well due to their poor goal keeping!

Anonymous said...

What were the scores for tonights games?

While I'll definitely take blame on the second goal, please tell me how you thought the other two were "weak"? Comments like this show how little people in this province know...

JD

While I certainly don't know everything, I have had many experiences at a high level of soccer here in Canada (I'll be the first to admit however that that's not saying much). Would still be confident in saying that I know a fair amount. And I'm not concerned if people like me or not. Have you ever had a conversation with me JB? Probably not. A petty fool making a useless comment. Probably a useless footballer too

JD

Anonymous said...

JD really can't be blamed for close range scramble goals and deflections. To blame that on a keeper is just nonsense. Canada was unlucky to lose 3-0, but ROI will certainly go on to win it now.

Anonymous said...

well said JD, JB has coming onto this blog and putting people down, and yet no one knows who he is, just a low life footballer

It is too bad that ROI didn't have the high quality striker that they needed when the games got tough. I was starting to cheer for Steve DeLong as he was scoring at will, but when you think about it… the majority of the goals were in garbage games.

When push came to shove, DeLong couldn't produce. Last year they struggled because Garrett Meier couldn't produce. ROI needs a target striker who can score and DeLong can be the secondary option. If ROI wants to start winning again, they need to get a more athletic, physical, and dangerous striker than DeLong.

ROI also needs to reconsider how Mitch factors in to the mix. I heard comments from Alfie about how Mitch would be a game changer, but I was never really sold on that idea. ROI bowing out in the semi's further emphasizes that. ROI need a dynamic player maker in the midfield. Players like McGavigan are a waste as their fitness level is a joke.

ROI you better start recruiting for new players ASAP, and maybe pull a Manchester United and fire Alfie from coaching.

JD, you're not that good. Don't come on here and preach to the choir. The second goal you let in was absolutely horrendous. A lawn chair or pylon could have made that save. JD, you sir, are a dud. You are old and washed up. Give it up. You cost your team the game. Make some saves bud.

One of the weakest teams through to the next round was Laos. They got destroyed last night by Jamaica. What a joke you guys are. Make a better team next year. You have disgraced the Laotian community.

Anonymous said...

Most disappointing final in a few years for sure, I was expecting a Ireland vs Laos rematch, did not see the games so not to sure what happened? Jamaica probably should have lost to France(awful red card0, So that's why I don't feel they should be there but they must have played great last night. I think Poland is a strong team but I just didn't see anyone beating Ireland(were they missing players?). Not really sure who I want to win now, probably Poland as I was disappointed with the France call for Jamaica. Kevin Holness wins WCP on 10th anniversary conspiracy....

Anonymous said...

14:04; you are spot on. JD talks a big, and if Mitch didn't sensor the comments so much; he'd be getting roasted just like Peever did!

Anonymous said...

well this is whats going to happen, the Polands womens team will win, and then the mens side Jamaica will win to crush the Polish fans, if Poland loses both games, there will riots in the stands and all over city.

Anonymous said...

There will be Polish tears flowing once both teams lose… and if both teams win, the Polish fans won't shut up about it and think they are amazing! For the benefit of the majority cheer for Jamaica!
As Polish are almost as big of cry babies and annoying whiners as Jason (JD) Blakely is!!

Anonymous said...

Some of you jerks just have to put other people down in order to feel better about yourselves, don't you? You see a big man when you look in your warped mirror? Guys like JD, Scott Myrah, and a long list of others know they aren't superstars but they work hard to be the best they can and don't have to apologize to anyone for that. And the Polish fans? Of course they support their teams - win or lose. It's called loyalty. I didn't see any tears or rioting last year. Good luck to all teams playing in the finals tomorrow. You all deserve to be there!

Anonymous said...

These Polish fans are fake fans. Half of them don't even like Poland. I know. People hate Poland. No one cares if they win. There small little cheer section at the facility is about all they have. Give it up. Fold your teams.

Polish fans support a mens team that has lost every year, so no meed to fantasize about how they will act. They come back and support their team each new year, like many other teams fans do including laos, Columbia, nigeria, afghan, and this year saudi fans became more of a vocal force.. Even the fan from south korea with the 2 pop bottles he kept smashing together helped create a more exciting atmosphere in their game.

Games with supportive fans are so much more fun to watch cause they add to the atmosphere and promote what kevin was striving for when he created the multi nation tournament.

Be proud of your own heritage instead of complaining about others.
