2014 WCP Fantasy Draft

As we have every year for the past 3 years we once again have concluded our fantasy draft. Here is how things shook out with the format being a snake draft with Scotty picking first.

Ideas for year end awards

Fair Play award (might encourage more sportsmanship... soft award)

Heritage Award (team with highest heritage to non heritage players ratio)

Best goal

Best hair

Ideas for a better tournament:

Skills competition.

Gives players on weaker (non-playoff) teams a chance to show their skills. There are so many different activities you could do (hardest shot, shootout, target hitting for keepers and players etc.)

I would say limit this to non-playoff teams just to give those teams something else to look forward to.

Thoughts!?

that sounds great, but if you do that for mens, your most likely going to have the womens, u-20's and the youth players that want the same thing, there would be no time for that, but it sounds good.

Anon: 12:52, just add one more whole day. Get some volunteers out. People love to help out for these type of events.

SO many crappy players picked in this... Taylor Haid? Carlos Brown?really?

Anonymous said...

How come people haven't asked Collins how his team did in Division 1 this year. They blew big chunks. Duds like Lee Mooney... Such a talented group of players, he he he he he. The only legit dude on the Cosmos is McGavigan. The rest of you are little stinkers.

Anonymous said...

How does this fantasy bracket work anyways Mike? You get points for goals, assists, wins, saves, save percentage??? What are the categories for points.

Anonymous said...

The only points WOSIK is getting is for reckless tackles. What a waste of a pick.

Anonymous said...

What's with all this Wosik hate? If you don't like the guy because he tackles hard that's fine, but why wouldn't someone pick one of the top goal scorers on Poland from last year? He scored a hatty against Sudan before shit hit the fan if I remember correctly.

People are hating on some pretty good players. So what if people play hard. I give props to those guys who go out and give it their all. That's what this tournament is all about. We don't want weak little babies coming on the pitch and complaining about everything. Get over it. There are so many whiny little idiots in the Regina soccer league. Shut up and deal with it. This also applies to the women players.

Coming on here and reading this stuff makes me think we have a ton of messed up people living in and around Saskatchewan. Wow, this is a sad place. Why would anyone want to raise their kids here. Just look at the nonsense on this blog. So many jealous haters.

Anonymous said...

I know many former players of quality that won't have their kids play soccer in Regina due to the attitudes demonstrated on this blog being dominate throughout the sport. I must agree with anon 11:48, I may put my kids into hockey instead; at least there is a future in that sport in Canada.

Anonymous said...

If you play soccer in Regina you know first hand how many jerks are in the league(s). I could careless about soccer in this city. Hockey is a great choice for kid(s) anon: 12:21. A bit more expensive, but worth it. I can't handle some of the arrogant butt heads that play soccer. Most of them think their shit don't stink.

Anonymous said...

Saskatchewan, mainly Regina, is littered with those that can't play but act like they are all that. It is a cancerous environment and night and day from other provinces around Canada where soccer is more developed. People complain about the quality of the game, but these people don't even remotely know what quality is as they make sure to kill all and any quality around them.

TOP 3 worst players in WCP CUP HISTORY:

1) Noor Mitri
2) Flavio Bravo
3) Javier Bravo

Washed up fools. Should give up playing soccer for good.

Anonymous said...

1) Noor, I cry about everything related to soccer in Regina and tell the whole world how much I hate it Mitri. A huge dud.

2) Flavio, I can't save a ball if my life depended on it Bravo. Hilarious to watch. Good for quite a few laughs.

3)Javier, I am so big but can put the ball in the net Bravo. This guy was actually decent. Scored quite a bit of goals back in the day. Doesn't deserve to be on a worst players list.

add Lee Mooney to the list of washed up players.

This blog is treading a fine line. Many of these posts, especially one pertaining to people not on this blog, can come back to bite you Mike. You may not be writing these comments, but by publishing them you are endorsing them. Anyone in the business world or with any sense of slander knows what I am talking about. A good example; those Karlen comments about her behaviour are cutting it very close.

I would recommend you really monitor what you are posting closer as I would hate that the wrong person gets upset and holds you accountable Mike. If I was in the business world and my name came up here and I wasn't posting on this blog, I wouldn't think twice to sue you and I have two years of comment being posted to file a suit that damages my reputation, character, or ability to gain employment. Also the mention of someone being "infectious" to a disease they don't have is another avenue that a person can explore.

Post this is if you want, but this is more of a friendly warning before you dig yourself a hole you can't get out of.

Anon: 19:20, dis blog is just a blog mon, people just put their opinions mon. You don't like the truth mon? You don't need to be on here if you don't like it. Get lost mon.

Anonymous said...

Read the disclaimer, which won't hold on up in any legal standing, but it highlights how the views are of the author. Mike is the author due to the fact that he controls what is posted and has altered comments in posts. Correct about fools being fools as your post proves just how foolish you are. All the best Mike, just really hope you monitor what you allow as it's you are the one who the axe will fall on.

Parents must be bad lawyers as if you google what that anon poster said, there is some validity in their comments. Maybe not 100% right but they are on the right track. I wouldn't publicize that your parents are lawyers with your comments as you may lose them business.

Anonymous said...

Ha, I'm not going to lose my parents any business. I'm rich "mitch".

Wow, people going around saying they are going to sue and this and that. Proves my point, that a bunch of retards live in Regina. You have to have money to sue people you morons. You also won't be getting that much money for damages since this is such a stupid case and not really that strong of a case either. You would get laughed out of court and look even stupider when the judge tells you that you are probably doing this to make money. Wow, got to love the individuals living in Regina. They seem so cool. NOT!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

yo marlies, you are fat. your parents aren't even real lawyers, just those sketchy infomercial lawyers. i am a lawyer and yes mike can get into legal trouble over this blog but it would cost that person a pretty penny just to consult with a lawyer let alone go through with making a case.

Everyone who is planning to sue - if your feelings get hurt from reading comments from a bunch of Mike's friends anonymously bashing you... then you are a coward... there i said it

-the joker

Anonymous said...

The joker is back. Finally. Where have you been bud?

Anonymous said...

The damages for slanderous comments which prevents a person from getting a job could probably be pretty high, up to and including any salary they would have received with that job had they gotten it.

Unknown said...

I highly doubt potential employers are aware of/reading this blog, let alone taking comments made about certain individuals as scripture.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Nathan. Stop getting all huffy about this blog. Some messed up people come on here preaching all their legal talk. Regina for you. Messed up individuals are all over this place. One of the worst cities to be associated with. That much I know.

Anonymous said...

Actually I was interviewing for a job once and due to google search, my name was linked to this site due to a comment some anonymous poster made about it and it was brought up during an interview.
If your name shows up enough times and you search via google or any other search engine; this site will be one of the top hits. With employers looking more and more into people's online activity, I wasn't surprised that this site came up… I was disappointed of the negativity perception that was placed upon me by random people who don't even know me. It happened to me, I wouldn't doubt it affecting others in one way or another. So people should just be mindful with the comments that they make as they do have an affect.

Unknown said...

The person who interviewed you said something to the effect that you didn't get the job because they Googled you and there were unfavorable comments made about you on an opinion-based blog about a local soccer tournament? Also, last names are rarely used on this blog.

Anonymous said...

Anon: 12:40. Any company that uses the wcp cup blog, which has no credibility, is likely an employer who I would think twice about working for. Was this some kind of fast food joint or what? Give me a break.

I can't believe my eyes. It is like fate has brought us all back together. On the day the joker (Kirk Evans) returns, the Great 8 Nathan Reis also glamor us with his presence. It was only fitting that I too return to my former stomping grounds and wreck havoc on this site.

Great 8, I heard you're fatter than ever. Well done you slob. You should have been banned from life from this tournament after all the disgraceful things you and Mike have accomplished.

Atleast this year we shall meet on the pitch!

I doubt you heard that.

Sick post, bud.

GOW, my old pal, I see you're still unable to write legible sentences. Make sure you come introduce yourself when we "meet on the pitch". Maybe you can give me some pointers on how to lose all my excess weight! Don't "wreck" too much havoc on the blog though. The readers won't be able to comprehend your witticisms.
