Player: David Brown - ROI - I'm glad his name is easy to spell as I am constantly typing it on here. Added 5 more to his count yesterday, including a couple brilliant ones. People say that they need to mark him but it's not that easy as I'm pretty sure that was Canada's plan. Easy to say but harder to do.
Goal: David Brown - ROI - Scored an absolute ripper from the right touchline. I had a great view of this and I'm still not sure how he managed to fit it in there. Honorable mention to both Jay Tomchuk for his slow roller that found his way back the Canada keeper and half their defense. Also to Sean Riggs for his game winner against France. Good free kick.
Gaffe: Mason Bulych - France - I hate to do this to Mason but hitting the roof in the 9th minute of a 10 minute extra time is a killer. Really cost them the game. Sucks as that game looked like it was on it's way to a shoot out.
Call: France vs ES ref - Caught that blatant hand ball which would have been France's first goal. The France attacker punched the ball into the net and then started to celebrate. Happened really quickly and was tough to catch. Unfortunately it knocked out the favorites.

no save of the day?
France had plenty of chances to win the game before overtime. they just couldnt put the ball in the net. unfortunately it came down to a very uncharacteristic error from a highly skilled player that cost them the game. it was a great free kick though.
France is not a good team. Don't know what the big hype is. Look at that team play. They have a goalie who has no self control and has to yell at the REF'S all the time. It's true brutal to see and a ton of players who take the liberty of doing it all themselves. Try to bass the ball.
EL SALVADOR deserves to win and what a great goal. France lines up all their players and the EL player still scores. Makes me wonder how good this France team is. HA!
Props for giving credit to the ref in the France, ES game for the call she made on France's disallowed hand ball. Great positioning to see the play occur as many of us barely saw it.
Yea, the ref was in the perfect position along with ES players on that side of field to confirm something wasn't right. I'm sure Mike had to mention it to make his girl friend(ref) feel good too...
am sure she told him to say hi when they were one on one lol just saying but that was a great call from her so she deserves credit, i actually think shes grown to be the best ref in the city am sick and tired of all other refs with there mistakes they make, bad call after the other, favoring teams, not good at all for this tournament
I disagree with France having "alot" of chances to win the ES match... it was actually ES who had more chances with Tristan spilling every single shot for a rebound that ES was unable to capitalize.... unlike the ROI game, I think both teams had a chance here and there... yet ES had better chances then France.
What is extremely disappointing is that after reading on every single blog about how "classy" France was, 3/4 of the team left the field without shaking hands after the match.... whilst the ROI vs ES was chippy and a battle.. yet although ES was defeated every single player stayed on the pitch to shake hands. I know it sucks to lose a match like that... yet most unclassy thing you can do is to pull a Lebron James and leave the pitch without giving you opponents that respect.
I'd like to say that it wasn't the whole French squad that bailed... as Riley, Mason, Brett, and some of the older players stuck around and that is respectable.
There you go again ..... I really think you hate ES yet most of the players in that team are nice guys!!! I think you should just declare your love for this Brown dude!!! Lol
